The carousel I'm most familiar with is the one in Woodlands Mall food court. That thing has been there forever.

This place is an absolute treaure! Im a historian and I have seen many many military museums and this is aming the absolute best! Great for all ages and interests They do live reenactments for the civil war, WWI, and WWII a couple of times a year. The reenactors themselves are usually fanatic historians and painstakingly portray correct roles down to the buttons on their uniforms! And of course, the operational vehicles are living history! Definitely a must do!
